Dr. Jidé Odubiyi, President & Technology Director jodubiyi@segma.com
Dr. Odubiyi is the President and Technology Director of SEGMA, LLC. He has over 30 years of experience in researching, developing, and managing large software decision support systems using Artificial Intelligence including software agent technology, Distributed Computing, Simulation Science, Business Informatics, Information Assurance, Statistics and Operations Research principles. He is currently leading the development of a Cyber security software to protect critical infrastructures from cyber attacks. Prior to his current position, he led the development and on-going research on Kaelo®, a corporate governance rating system for rating the effectiveness of the leadership team of publicly traded companies. He served as Associate Professor of Computer Science at Bowie State University where he taught graduate and undergraduate courses in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Computer and Network Security. He was a Principal AI Researcher and R&D Manager at British Telecom (BT) North America/Concert Global Communications (USA) in Reston, VA for 5+ years. He has experience in developing large decision support systems for different organizations including the Boeing Company; Lockheed Martin Aerospace, and The MITRE Corporation. A founding and active member of the Maryland Alliance for Information Security and Assurance (MAISA), Dr. Odubiyi is active in cybersecurity research and development; and a member of the Industry Advisory Board of the CIS Department at Towson University. He has an MS degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Washington and a doctorate degree in Applied Management and Decision Sciences from Walden University. Dr. Marcus Thint, VP Product Engineering, mthint@segma.com
Dr. Thint has over 20 years of industrial and research experience in AI technologies, product engineering and deployment (software and hardware) with recent focus on personal digital assistants and automated question answering systems. In the early 1990's, Dr. Thint co-founded Intelligent Machines Inc., designing a graphical software environment for design, simulation, and deployment of diagnosis, control, and pattern recognition applications based on neural networks and fuzzy logic technologies.  At IMI, he was also awarded R&D contracts from the National Science Foundation, and BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit District), which he successfully delivered as Principal Investigator.  In 1995, Dr. Thint returned to BART, where he completed research on neural-network based diagnostic systems, and on-board health monitoring of train control electronics as part of DARPA's dual-use technology initiative for AATC (Advanced Automatic Train Control) program.  In 1997, he joined the Intelligent Systems Research Center of British Telecom, and has been one of the developers of the intelligent Personal Agent Framework (iPAF) system for personalized information retrieval including Radar, an agent that offers just-in-time user interest and activity information; Bugle, a personalized newspaper service; and Grapevine, expertise locator based on personal profiles. Dr. Thint serves as a co-developer of the text analyzer and approximate reasoning engine modules of Kaelo. Dr. Thint earned a Ph.D. degree in 1991 and MS (1984), in Electrical Engineering from Duke University, Durham, NC. (Specialty in Machine Intelligence and Robotics).
